At ISS Canada, we know how easily headaches can build up over freeway traffic monitoring. Our low-cost, quick deployment FTMS (Freeway Traffic Monitoring System) delivers monitoring and automatic incident detection. Reaction is accurate and speedy - usually within 90 seconds - in all weather conditions. Installation is safe and fast using existing roadside poles. That means no lane closures.

Based on RTMS radars, FTMS vehicle detection stations are spaced every 500m and installed on roadside poles in the side-fired configuration. They deliver data to a PC at the Traffic Operations Center (TOC) every 30 seconds via RF, ethernet or land-line modems. Incident management by TOC personnel is automated by fast reaction, processing and integration with the CCTV system. FTMS alerts separately for incident and for recurrent congestion.
